 2012 PLANTING AND HARVESTING
Welcome
WELCOME TO WENTWORTH FAMILY FARMS!

Wentworth ancestors began farming in Central Illinois in the 1860's.  Today, Wentworth Family Farms continues a proud tradition of providing the latest in crop production, farm management, marketing, and soil stewardship in Central Illinois.  We will provide current updates on the conditions and field operations that are occurring on our Central Illinois farms here on our web site and also on Twitter.  Follow along as the 2012 crop season progresses.

MAY 23, 2013

WHAT  A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES.  LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME WE WERE HAVING RECORD WARM TEMPERATURES WITH LITTLE RAIN AND BOTH CORN AND SOYBEANS PLANTED.  ON MONDAY MAY 20 WE FINISHED CORN PLANTING AND HAD RAIN AGAIN THAT NIGHT.  WE HOPE TO START SOYBEAN PLANTING TOMORROW THE 24TH.  IT SHOULD ONLY TAKE US A WEEK TO GET THE SOYBEANS IN THE GROUND BUT THE FORCAST IS FOR MORE RAIN OVER THE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND.  AFTER LAST YEAR THOUGH WE WILL NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE MORE THAN ADEQUATE RAINFALL.  OUR NCGA FIELD HAS BEEN PLANTED AND IS LOOKING GOOD.  WE WILL BEGIN SIDE DRESSING NITROGEN IN TWO WEEKS.
