HAPPY LABOR DAY. WE ARE FORTUNATE TO LIVE IN THE U.S.A. WHAT A SUMMER IT HAS BEEN WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION. LOCAL CROP SURVEYS ARE PROJECTING A 200+ BUSHEL CROP FOR MCLEAN COUNTY ILLINOIS. SILAGE HARVEST STARTED LAST WEEK AND THOSE YIELDS HAVE BEEN THE BEST EVER. CONSISITENT PLANT STANDS AND EARS ON EVERY STALK MAKE FOR HIGH YIELDS. SOYBEANS ARE STARTING TO MATURE WITH SOME DISEASE ISSUES OF WHITE MOLD AND SUDDEN DEATH SYNDROME. WE HAVE HAD ONE BRAZILIAN FARM TOUR HERE WITH TWO MORE SCHEDULED FOR THIS MONTH. IT IS ALWAYS FUN TO DISCUSS FARMING WITH FARMERS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. HOPE THEY ENJOY THEMSELVES. THERE HAS BEEN SOME CORN HARVESTED SOUTH OF HERE, IT LOOKS LIKE THREE WEEKS BEFORE WE ARE ABLE TO BEGIN. HAVE A SAFE HARVEST.
