WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES. CORN HARVEST IS WELL UNDER WAY AND YIELDS ARE MUCH IMPROVED FROM LAST YEAR. FIELD AVERAGES SO FAR HAVE BEEN IN THE 185-200 RANGE. VERY ACCEPTABLE WITH THE LACK OF MOISTURE THROUGH THE END OF JULY AND ALL OF AUGUST. THERE ARE STALK QUALITY ISSUES, PARTICULARLY IN CORN ON CORN. WE WILL HOPE TO HAVE ANOTHER STRONG WEEK OF CORN HARVEST THIS WEEK AND THEN TURN TO SOYBEANS NEXT WEEK. SOYBEAN YIELDS FROM INITIAL REPORTS SEEM TO BE ABOVE AVERAGE AND CERTAINLY BETTER THAN WE EXPECTED A MONTH AGO.
