APRIL 8, 2014
SPRING HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! SOIL TEMPERATURES ARE STILL BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR, BUT WILL WARM UP QUICKLY ONCE OUR DAYTIME TEMPERATURES START INCREASING. LATER THIS WEEK LOOKS LIKE THE FIRST 70 DEGREE DAY OF THE YEAR. WE ARE FINISHING WORKING ON PLANTER AND HAVE ALREADY BEEN IN THE FIELD WITH THE FIELD CULTIVATOR LEVELING SOME FALL CHISELED GROUND. WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO START PLANTING BEFORE EASTER, BUT WILL WAIT TO SEE WHAT THE SOIL TEMPERATURES ARE THIS TIME NEXT WEEK BEFORE WE COMMITT TO STARTING. IT HAS BEEN NICE TO SEE CORN AND SOYBEAN PRICES RALLY IN THE LAST MONTH AS DEMAND IS CONSUMING LAST YEAR'S PRODUCTION VERY RAPIDLY. BE SAFE THIS SPRING AND BE SURE TO FOLLOW US ON TWITTER FOR DAILY UPDATES THIS GROWING SEASON.
